My High School Sport

In high school I was on a team not to many schools in New York offer to their kids. I was a member of the rifle team. Not many people can say they have a gun range in their schools basement under the library. It wasn’t a very popular sport among my classmates, but I joined to see what it was all about. How the sport works is we shoot in three positions prone, offhand and kneeling. In each position we shot at a target down range at 50 feet at a target containing 12 circles, the two middle ones are your sighting circles used to sight in your gun, and the remaining 10 were the ones that counted. You are only allowed 10 shots outside the sight circles and them 10 count towards that targets school with a perfect score being a 100. So each shooters score is out of 100. During a match there’s 8 people per team that shoot, and of them 8 the top 5 shooters per each team count as the teams total score. Whichever team has the best combined 5 shooters score wins the match. We shoot 22 caliber completive rifles mostly made by a gun company from Germany named Anschutz. But we also have air rifle matches as well the 22 caliber ones. These matches are fairly similar the only difference is you shoot three targets all in the prone position and the target is only 35 feet away instead of 50 feet. At sections the test team for 22 and air rifle get to go to states which are held each year at West Point Military Academy. There instead of scoring each target by hand like the team captains have to every match, West Point ranges are all electronic so the match is scored electronically. The spectators can watch every shot on a computer screen outside the range so they know how everyone’s doing. This is what I did in high school and rifle taught us a lot about teamwork and respect for firearms. Without totally team respect this sport could easily be eliminated from schools all over.

Lucky Fan

Athlete ß à Lucky Fan
Professional sports athletes are heroes to people of all ages and many people want to be just like them. But what if you really could switch places with an athlete for some time. You would get access to whatever they owned and you get to go through their daily lives just as the other normally would. The athlete would have to live with the income the other would normal would and do his normal job. I think living in middle class after living in high class after so long will open athlete’s eyes a lot. I think it could even help them become not so greedy for more money. Another lesson I think that could come from this television show is spending your money wisely. A lot of players retire then run out of money fast because they spend it so fast on unnecessary things. These money sprees forces players out of retirement and try to play again when a lot by then cant due to age and loss of skill. So having such a small budget when they switch place I think will give them a perspective on their own spending. On the other side the other person gets to live the star life for a little bit. Not only do they get to stay at the athletes house are use their stuff, but they get to try the athletes sport as well. They got see do their work out to see how hard the athletes train daily to play on the professional level. Then they get first hand at a scrimmage type set game where the non athlete has to play the position as the athlete would normally. I believe that this would show how hard athletes really work for the money they earn. With a lot of fans mindsets on the focus that they get paid too much, hopefully people can get a better understanding of what they do. Also seeing conditions of families it will inspire the athletes to want to help out many causes. At the end of two weeks the two who switched places must meet and discuss what they have learned. This series would be funny but also a family show for the kids to learn life lessons as well.

Professional

My name is Lenny Prezorki, everyone knows me. I'm famous to everyone who has ever watched me race on TV. What do I race? Well you should all know I am a professional snowmobile rider. I travel all over the United States and Canada during the winter months. I do all sorts of snowmobiling events. Ever watch the winter X-Games? I'm on there every year competing in all the events including snocross, best trick, speed and style, and freestyle. Over the years I have collected a fair share of metals but mostly just gold. During the winter months I’m pretty busy traveling and competing, but the rest of the time is my free time. I have a ranch in Texas where I live with my wife, son and daughter. My son wants to be just like me so he also races and competes in junior competitions. On my ranch I raise beef cattle because it’s what I love to do and also helps me earn money in the off season. My daughter is a total farm girl. She stays home and runs the ranch while I’m competing in the winter. So she’s wants to start going to college to be a farm vet next year. I drive a jacked up GMC Duramax truck that I love. Living in Texas it’ll all about who drives the nicest truck and with my money that person is me. Like all the other professionals I don’t spend my money like crazy, I like to say I’m smart in the financial department. Everyone competes all winter long then spends it all in the off season, but not this guy. In the summer I like to fish with my son. I’m a big family man and family is very important to me. I got a boat I take out on the lake fishing, tubing, and water skiing. To survive that Texas heat you got to live in the water to stay cool. When you spend fifty percent of the year freezing you would want to live in Texas to. That’s pretty much me in a nut shell. Everyone wishes they could be me. I tell them you can as long as you put the work into what you love, you can be.

Gun Rights

The beginning of the slide show goes back in time, showing the creation of the gun rights in the second amendment. The first picture includes the famous quote "We the people" with a gun next to the quote meaning, that everyone is entitled to gun rights. This picture was used first to relate to everyone that this posting was relating to everyone, to attract interest to everyone. In the second picture it breaks down into another piece of the Declaration saying “to keep and bear arms" showing the written evidence of our write. This picture helps show evidence to help people understand this argument for gun rights. The next few pictures with the Statue of Liberty and the eagle help show the power and freedom we have in this country. That is including gun rights shown by the Statue of Liberty lifting up a gun. The eagles help show that it is a freedom and with the expiration date, that it can never be taken away from you and me. The statue helps portray that of how our country was shaped with this right. The picture of the politician holding up the gun shows how powerful that right can be in debates for elections. This shows that many people support and back this right because politicians go for ideas that many people will agree with, in turn gaining his support for the election. This picture also depicts that this is a controversial topic because it’s being brought up to help in a campaign. This second to last picture shows a man grabbing for a gun at 3am due to someone breaking in his house. These last two pictures are there to show how that right is mostly used today for self defense.  You want to have some protection for your family against bad people and the picture shows you can protect better and feel safer with a gun. The picture of him holding the broom shows his face as scared and nervous because he doesn’t feel he can protect himself and his family with a broom. The last picture shows a picture that’s been in the news most recently, to help people connect to the post. This young mother had her house broken into and to protect her baby she shot one of the robbers with the gun shown.  This picture helps show a real story of how having that right she was able to protect her and baby.
